Is it really July?

Wasn't my last post about how long it had been since I last posted?? Maybe this blog thing is not for me.

Believe it or not, this is the first time I have been able to catch my breath long enough to even consider writing. This gardening gig is tougher than I thought. We are right smack in the middle of a drought right now - so not much to do as far as gardening - so why not write?

I'm not even going to try to recap the last 4 months - let's just wrap it up by saying HECTIC. It hasn't been all work - but definitely 85% has been work.

The summer has been great - besides the searing heat and no rain - and the kids have been involved in their usual insane amount of activities. Alyson got her drivers license and is helping out with the running, which is helpful.

We are delivering our veggies every week to our members and so far so good - everyone seems to be happy with what they are receiving. We have raised and butchered and now have in the freezer - 75 chickens and are about to order our new batch of chicks for the fall (another 50). Pretty much all 75 of the spring batch have been sold and are being delivered - so now we need to have some for ourselves. Right now it is pretty quiet around here, we are left with 11 old hens and 15 new hens and NO roosters - they bit the dust along with the roasters - a little too much testosterone around here.

Brenna just finished up softball and Maddie has two auditions tonight for the Minnesota State Fair Talent Show, so as you can see, we haven't slowed down much.

Well, here is to breaking back into the blogging world - hopefully I can keep this rolling.
