Credits earned, fees paid, locker cleaned out, family arrivals, graduation party, family departures. We survived.
The last of the company left yesterday. Two weeks of family coming and going leaves its mark.
Getting back into a routine is the hardest of all.
Alyson is officially done with high school and is now spending her summer working two jobs in order to save money for school. After a visit to her college campus on Tuesday for orientation, she is very excited and so are we.
Believe it or not, I did not spend the entire graduation ceremony in tears. Maybe I'm fooling myself, but so far, there is no sadness, just excited for her upcoming journey. When her car is packed and she is pulling out of the driveway, that might be another story.
After two weeks of non-stop running and entertaining of out of town family, I'm finding myself completely alone in the house this week. Alyson is working every day, the two younger girls are in a community ed summer camp and John is back working days. I've found myself sitting around wondering what the hell to do with myself even though there is a very large garden and greenhouse that needs my undivided attention. Procrastination, I am a master.
I'm looking forward to getting back to my posting, my exercising, my quiet time. First? The final touches on the Bee Swarm story with pictures.....right after I surf a few more of your wonderful blogs and have at least one more cup of tea.

glad that all the busy-ness of graduation is over for ya! that's a lot of work!
hope you can enjoy the time you have alone and get back in the greenhouse! eh - more work! :)
have a great weekend!
You have had a lot going on. I've been doing similar activities here on my end. I feel a little bit of sadness about my baby leaving the nest, but I also see that I am being forced to come up with some new goals-a redifinition if you will.
I'm looking forward to hearing about the bees.
She looks beautiful and so happy. Congratulations on getting through the festivities and hosting so much family. I too look forward to the bee swarm video.
Just came accross you blog...love your stories..."one leg..pants" and more...will be back to catch up.
Hi, just ran across your site as well and I want to keep coming back. My girl will be junior this year....I'm looking forward to graduation day - lol!
I understand. The work around you is endless, but sometimes life circumstances need you to not dive in, but to sit and sip. Congratulations to Alyson. Different, but Stryker graduated from sixth grade and it felt right, not sad.
Congratulations to Alyson. That girl has quite a light in her. Enjoy the peace for a while!
Congratulations! Did you home school Alyson throughout? Sorry for all the comments in one night, just getting caught up on your blog.
