April Letters - #5

Dear Mother Nature:

Remember back a few months ago when I wrote you that nasty letter? Please understand it had been a long, long winter and you were kind of dragging things out a bit, don't you think?

Anyway, enough about that, it's water under the bridge between pals, right?

The purpose of this letter is to give you praise and Thank You for the wonderful spring day we had today. You would not believe what a sunny, warm (60!) day will do for a woman who had a day from hell the day before. The minute I woke up this morning and saw the sunshine, I had a whole new perspective on life. I was even civil to my kids after they tortured me!

The feeling must have been contagious, because both daughters that had really pissed me off, came up to me and gave me big hugs this morning. No "I'm sorrys" or anything, that would be a little too much like admitting you were wrong. But no worries, the hug was just fine.

There is also nothing like sunshine and warmth to motivate a farmer! The things we got accomplished today was amazing. We even tilled inside the hoophouse and got seeds planted! An amazing feat for a farmer in Wisconsin on April 5th.

After my hot shower, a little chicken with rice and broccoli and a few beers, it was the perfect finish to a perfect day. Now hubby and I are going to snuggle in for a movie, of which we will probably see about 10 mintues of due to how tired we are.

So, in closing, please forgive my prior correspondence. We'll just write it off to a little cabin fever......or until you make it snow here, which according to the forecast could possibly be tomorrow. Is that even possible? Never mind, don't answer that.

Sincerely,

Angie
