THEY'RE HEEEEEEERE!

Finally, some good news around these parts. Yes, our babies arrived this morning with little fanfare. At 7:00 a.m., I went out to do morning chores and before I even opened the barn door, I heard a little "baaaaa". We are over the moon with these little guys - yes, two boys.

The second one born is having a little harder time getting going, so we are keeping a watchful eye on him to see if we need to intervene. Gracie is a wonderful mama and is doing her best to keep the 2nd little guy going strong.

Casey is acting like a protective big sister and likes to place herself between us and the babies. She sniffs them gently and seems very curious about what is going on.

Lucky for us, Gracie didn't have them yesterday. It was -35 with the wind chill, Alyson's school was cancelled due to the cold and it would NOT have been a good day to try to keep babies warm. Today is a little better, no wind and a high of 10. The heat lamps are on and it seems pretty toasty in the barn, considering.

We are heading out every 2 hours or so to make sure the weaker little guy is doing okay. If he hasn't started nursing by this afternoon, we may need to milk Gracie a little and help him along, but for now, we are just trying to stay out of the way and let her do her 'mommy' thing. She knows best.

Okay, okay, enough babbling - here are the debut pictures.

We would welcome any name suggestions you have. Send us your creative ideas for these two little brothers, will you?

They are beautiful!
The best two names ever - my Goddaughter got a pair of kittens when she was 5 and named them Skinny and Bob. I've always told her that the next time I have two of anything to name, I'm going to use them. I'm sure she'd be happy to share their names with you. =)

How about Jacob and Joshua??

We had this debate several years ago when we adopted 2 brother cats. They ended up as Jake and Elwood and man do those names fit!! :-D
The babies look too sweet to be Blues Bros, but feel free if they are ornery-lol!
