No nuts allowed

Is this the saddest face you have ever seen? Yes, yes we did - we got him neutered today. Poor baby. My husband tried and tried to get me not to do it to him. You see, our first Beagle, Riley, who my husband says is a 'sissy - mama's boy' is neutered so John thought if we could leave Rugby's 'boys' in tact, he would have someone to commiserate with and do 'boy' things.

Then Rugby started to sniff the air every time he went outside and would be gone for long periods of time. Just last week we couldn't find him. John left to go down to the hardware store, about a mile in to town from our house, and there was our little Rugby. In town. Chasing kids on their bikes, running with the town dogs, who are never a good group and acting like he didn't have a care in the world. How he managed not to get hit by a car on the busy highway he had to travel to get in town, I'll never know, but that was enough for me to walk into the house and pick up the phone to Vet Amy.

After all, it is the responsible pet owner thing to do and lord knows I don't want to be responsible for whatever little mutts show up that look like they are at least 1/2 Beagle.

He seems to be fairing well enough, except for the little cone he has to wear so he doesn't lick his incision and cause problems. As you can see from the pictures below, he is getting plenty of sympathy and eating it all up.

I asked John if he wanted to give him the frozen bag of peas that he used on his parts when he got fixed......he didn't think that was very funny and responded with this: "Great. You are still the only person in this house that has all the balls."

I personally don't see what the problem is. Do you, ladies?

John didn't look this cute in the cone we put on his head, that's for sure.

I'm laughing out loud here in my cube right now. People already think I'm weird enough, thank you very much!

This is just hilarious!

Have a good one.

I almost peed on my self! Didn't your husband know that you were the one with the balls when he met you? My favorite husband hasn't gotten fixed yet,but he knows who the boss is.

I wish my husband would get fixed! He would look so cute with a cone on his head.

Poor baby. We had surgery on our dog once, and I gotta say, those cones SUCK! They hit you right in the shin.

Good job, though. It's the right thing to do.
