Being Discovered

How many of you are 'out there' with your blogs? Do your families know? Do your family and friends regularly read? Does it affect what you write?

I was 'found' today. Ironically, by our friend Kino's son. (Hi Toshi!) When I first received his comment, I thought, "Oh God, I say the "F" word a lot on this blog". I'm not sure why that was the first thing I thought, but it was. Maybe it is uncomfortable to be found by someone who doesn't really know you because then you fear they will read your posts and make a judgment. Maybe your friends and family finding your blog wouldn't be as difficult because they know you and all your faults/weaknesses that come out in your writing, depending on your mood.

For me, the blog is an outlet. When you are with your kids 24 hours a day with homeschooling and don't have a job that takes you out of the house - believe me, you need an outlet.

Being 'found' made me question why I don't tell my family about my blog. What am I afraid of? Will I not be able to be as open & honest if they are reading? Will I have to edit myself so much that it won't be worth it anymore? Or do I just like the fact that this blog is mine and it's the one part of my life that I don't have to share?

Maybe it's time to come out of the blogging closet. That's something I'll have to chew on for awhile. Thoughts?

I don't ever want my family to find my blog. I've been blogging for over a year & if I were to be found I'd probably delet it all together b/c I've got so much personal history stuff there that my family doesn't need to know/read.

My sister, husband and mom know I blog. But they don't really know what blogging is & show no interest in it. Now & then I'll read them something I've written or show them another bloggers post but that's it. My husband can read it if he wants but since its a year full of me flapping my gums and he doesn't like to read that much I doubt he ever will! lol

I enjoy this little corner of the world w/o anyone I'm related to. I would never come out of the blogging closet. Nevah. That's what MySpace is for! LOL

When I started mine it was to keep my family/friends informed on my move and life stuff - then I found that very few of my family or friends will bother reading a blog - they want me to call them with any news! My dad still reads faithfully, which is bad because I can't say too much about dating or other entertaining stuff - so I keep it pretty tame. I think I'll start a new anonymous one where I can be more candid!
